Position Summary
As our HR Advisor, you’ll be the central point of contact for HR matters and oversee the day-to-day operational HR activity for the business unit. Working alongside the HR Shared Services team, you’ll work collaboratively to support the local and wider HR teams to help ensure that a professional and valued HR service is delivered. You'll be based in our Snodland office, Kent on a hybrid basis.
The role involves supporting managers and employees with first class HR advice on current legislation and best practice, supporting them with people development and adding value through improved attrition, presenteeism, engagement, and productivity. There is a requirement to manage ER casework and absenteeism, support the updating of company policies and procedures, and ad-hoc project work in line with Group values and the overall objectives of the business.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Provide professional advice and guidance on HR matters in line with Company and Group policy and procedure.
- Manage all ER casework including long term sickness, disciplinary and grievances, in collaboration with the HRBP.
- Support the quarterly staff survey process, building engagement with the workforce and analysing data to provide recommendations for improvements.
- Monitor and manage staff absence data, advising managers on corrective actions for improvement and working with Occupational Health to ensure compliance and best practice is followed.
- Support managers through the annual performance review process to ensure deadlines are met, and that consistency and fairness is upheld.
- Monitor shared mailboxes and respond to queries where necessary to support a timely HR provision.
- Create monthly reports and dashboards from the internal systems and databases to support projects and inform decision making, giving recommendations where necessary.
- Keep up to date with changes in HR regulations and legislation, ensuring compliance with statutory legal processes and procedures.
- Support with ad-hoc people changes such as promotions, job changes and payroll queries in collaboration with the relevant manager.
- Manage staff records within our benefits platforms, and supporting changes or updates as required.
- Manage on/offboarding processes to ensure a best possible experience for employees.
- Ensure GDPR principles are upheld, and advise and guide managers with best practice in their working environments and relevant meetings.
- Assess skills gaps in the workforce and coordinate training in liaison with the HRBP.
- Monitor shared mailboxes and respond to queries where necessary to support a timely HR provision.
- Liaison with shared services, supporting with recruitment and HR administration as required.

An experienced HR professional qualified to at least CIPD Level 3, our ideal candidate will have a collaborative mindset with awareness of their own objectives and those of the wider teams. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with providing sound HR advice and guidance to managers, managing ER casework, and organising and planning their own workload.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- CIPD Level 3 or equivalent experience
- Experience of advising and guiding managers and providing HR expertise and support.
- Experience of managing ER casework, including long term absences, disciplinary and grievances.
- A good understanding of HR practices and UK employment law.
- An understanding of GDPR principles, and handling confidential data and documentation.
- Ability to liaise and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders both locally and at Group level.
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and managing conflicting priorities.
- Ability to analyse, interpret, and present HR data in forms, tables, graphs and spreadsheets.
- Ability to network effectively and build positive relationships across an organisation.
- Excellent understanding of IT, with experience of using HR systems and Microsoft packages, specifically Excel and Word.
- We are looking for someone who has: Fluent proficiency in spoken and written English.
Desirable Experience & Qualifications
- CIPD Level 5 or studying towards.
- Experience of working in a standalone role within manufacturing.
- An excellent understanding of HR practices and UK employment law.
